What is the Sermon Studio by sermon.net

Sermon.net is an all-in-one, Live & On Demand, media storage and delivery platform. Specifically designed for Pastors and Christian Ministries.

We help your ministry maintain complete control over your online content and how it is accessed, but we also make it easy to share your content through other platforms and social networks for additional outreach and growth.

1. UPLOAD YOUR CONTENT
Upload pre-recorded content to your account, and provide online access to your media through the multiple access points we provide.

Video Formats:
Sermon.Net supports nearly any video format for uploading. Examples are 3GP, AVI, FLV, MOV, MP4 and WMV.

There are a few noteworthy formats that are not supported:

Quicktime (MOV) files that use the Apple Intermediate Codec (used in Final Cut Pro).
DRM protected files from Microsoft (WMV) or the iTunes Store (M4V, MOV).
WMV videos using the MSS2 video codec (for screencasting).
Videos generated by GoToMeeting.

MP4 with H.264/AAC is an ubiquitous format these days and is our preferred upload video format.

Audio Formats:
Sermon.Net supports uploading of .mp3 and .acc audio files.

Your content is stored and delivered through our robust server infrastructure. Our global points of presence will ensure high performance to and from anywhere in the world.

2. LIVE STREAM AND RECORD YOUR CONTENT

Send your live stream to us through any RTMP encoding hardware or software (sermon.net is an RTMP destination).  Examples of RTMP encoding software; OBS, vMIX, and Wirecast. Examples of RTMP encoding hardware; ATEM Mini Pro, Teradek, and Datavideo to name a few.

Send us one high-quality stream and will automatically transcode it into multiple lower bitrate streams, to help ensure smooth streaming performance to your audience, regardless of their connection speed.

Following the live stream you will have access to its recording.  You can then publish the recording to your On Demand archive for people to access 24 / 7.  The live recording can be published in whole or in part (for example, you can stream the whole service, but only archive the message portion).  As part of this process we will automatically create a companion audio file so that people can take it with them and listen while on the go.

3. RESTREAM / SIMULCAST YOUR CONTENT

When you send your stream to sermon.net, we can simultaneously send your live stream to multiple destinations, such as a player embedded directly into your website, your Facebook page and YouTube channel.  This allows you to provide multiple access points, but also maintain control over your content.  Your sermon.net account provides a safe homebase for your media and your online congregation.

4. SCHEDULED BROADCASTING (Simulated Live Streaming)

If you have pre-recorded content that you would like to broadcast at a scheduled time, we can help.  Upload the media to your Sermon Studio and set its broadcast time.  Your online congregation will experience this as if it were a live stream, and they can interact during the event through the integrated live chat module.

5. PROVIDE ACCESS TO YOUR CONTENT

At sermon.net our goal is to enable you to do as much as possible, all with a single click. Upload or Live Stream your content to us, and we will make it available across multiple access points.

A. Landing Pages (Media Center & Live Campus)

Your ministry will have its very own landing pages that you can direct people to for access to your Live and On Demand content. If you do not currently have your own website, the sermon.net Media Center & Live Campus landing pages may be all you need.  You can even point your own domain name at the landing page so that you own it, and it’s easy to find.

Alternatively, you can embed the Media Center & Live Campus directly into your existing website by copying & pasting the provided iframe embed code into any web page(s).

B. Embeddable Players

For many ministries, it’s important to provide their online audience with the option to enjoy their media without all the distractions of the ad-driven platforms.  With sermon.net, you have players that you can embed directly into any web page you would like.  The players contain only your media, with no ads or links to any other content. These players are just for you.

The players can be for a single sermon, or you can build Playlist players for a group of sermons.

The Players are equipped with the ability to “cast” to any AirPlay or Chromecast device.  This is a great way to get your content onto the viewer’s big screen (home entertainment system).

C. Podcast Feeds

Podcast feeds are a great way to syndicate your content out through multiple directories. Your Sermon Studio account provides you with as many RSS / Podcast feeds as you would like.   Submit your Podcast feed to any of the directories out there (most are free), such as; Apple Podcast, Google Podcast, Spotify, iHeartRadio, etc.

People can subscribe to your Podcast feeds at the directory of their choice, and whenever you upload or record new content to your Sermon Studio, that content will automatically be made available to your Podcast subscribers as well.

D. Mobile Apps

Your Ministry will be included in The Sermon Network directory and search apps for Android and Apple.  Anyone can download the sermon.net app. They can then do a search and subscribe to your ministry within the app to access your Live and On Demand content.  You have the ability to select which of your Playlists are included in the App.

If you would like your own custom mobile apps for Android, Apple or Amazon Fire, which contain only your content, please reach out to us. Custom apps can be designed and developed with your specific needs in mind. We can discuss and provide you with a quote for their development.

E. OTT Channels

OTT channels are another great way to provide your audience access to your content. The sermon.net players allows you to “cast” your media to OTT devices such as AirPlay and Chromecast. In addition to this, your content is accessible through sermon.net on Apple TV, Google TV, and Amazon Fire TV.

If you would like your own custom OTT channels for Apple TV, Google TV, Amazon Fire TV, which contain only your content, please reach out to us. We can discuss and provide you with a quote for their development.
