If your livestream isn’t appearing on your YouTube channel, the first step is to reset the YouTube connection inside Sermon Studio. This forces a fresh login and re-authorizes the correct YouTube account.
Step-by-step
- Log out of YouTube first
- Go to YouTube.com and make sure you are fully logged out of any YouTube/Google account.
- Open your Sermon Studio account
- Log into your Sermon Studio dashboard.
- Go to the Simulcast page
- Navigate to Simulcast (where your streaming destinations are listed).
- Delete the existing YouTube connection
- Find the current YouTube target.
- Click the trash can icon (bottom-right of the YouTube target) to remove it.
- Re-add YouTube
- Click Add (bottom-right) to add a new simulcast destination.
- Choose YouTube.
- Sign in to the correct YouTube account
- When prompted, log in to the exact YouTube/Google account you want to stream to.
- Double-check you’re using the correct account/channel before continuing.
- Allow permissions
- When YouTube asks for permissions, allow access.
- If you see an option like “Allow this app/plugin to manage your YouTube account”, check the box and proceed.
- Confirm YouTube is active
- Back on the Simulcast page, confirm the YouTube destination shows as enabled/active (toggle/checkbox in the upper area of the target).
- Test your stream
- Start a quick test stream to confirm it appears on your YouTube channel as expected.
If issues continue after this reset, the next step is to verify you’re streaming to the correct event type (Scheduled / Live) and that the YouTube channel permissions are correct - but in most cases, the reset above resolves it.
